How this assessment works
Based on the Framingham Heart Study, not a guess
Heart age is calculated using the "General Cardiovascular Disease Risk" equation published by the Framingham Heart Study (D'Agostino et al., Circulation 2008) — the same methodology behind heart-age tools used by the NHS and the Australian Heart Foundation. It finds the age of someone with the same sex and the same 10-year cardiovascular risk, but with every other factor (blood pressure, cholesterol, smoking, diabetes) at an optimal level.
